Your Email Sending Domain

Send email from your own domain instead of shared servers — the biggest single upgrade you can make to deliverability.

Without a dedicated sending domain, your emails go out through shared infrastructure and may show "via" headers or a rewritten From address. With one, mail comes from you — better inbox placement, consistent branding, and your own sending reputation.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Email Services and open the Dedicated Domain and IP tab.
  2. Click Add Domain and enter a subdomain of your website — e.g., mail.yourbusiness.com. Don't use your bare root domain.
  3. Add the DNS records shown (SPF, DKIM, CNAME, MX, DMARC) at your domain host — or authorize automatic setup if your registrar supports it.
  4. Click verify. SSL is issued automatically once the records check out.
  5. Send yourself a test email and confirm the From address shows your domain with no "via."
  6. If you send heavy volume, warm the domain up: start with small sends and ramp over a couple of weeks.

Good to know

  • "Domain already pointing to email server" means the subdomain has leftover MX/SPF records — remove them and retry.
  • Wildcard DNS records (*.yourdomain.com) block verification — remove the wildcard, verify, re-add.
  • DNS changes can take up to 24 hours; a failed verify usually just needs time.
  • Do this before your first real campaign — deliverability reputation is much easier to build than repair.
